Manassas, VA – Didlake has been awarded CIMS-GB Certification with honors. CIMS is a cleaning industry standard adopted by ISSA—The Worldwide Cleaning Industry Association. The certification was presented to Didlake’s Operations Manager Betty Williams at ISSA’s recent conference in Las Vegas.
The Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS) certification is a rigorous program that sets a new standard of excellence for building service contractors, specifically in the federal sector. Implementation of the standard’s signature framework, which is built around five universally accepted quality principles, establishes Didlake as a high-performance, customer-focused organization with consistent, quality services. The additional Green Building (GB) designation recognizes Didlake for an optional sixth dimension of CIMS that demonstrates an organization’s capability to assist customers in achieving LEED-EB (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design for Existing Buildings) and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) points while assuring customers that Didlake is prepared to partner with them in the LEED-certification process.
Didlake’s year-long preparations culminated in a three-day assessment by an independent, accredited CIMS-GB assessor of these six areas: quality systems, service delivery, human resources, health, safety, and environmental stewardship, management commitment and green building. Didlake offers thanks to SourceAmerica East Region members, Marshelle Gaspar and Kate Grimes, for their support in helping the organization to achieve its goal. “Their guidance helped us streamline the process from day one,” said Director of Quality Development, Brandy Emmons-Powell.
Didlake’s Vice President of Contract Operations, Mike Payne, had the honor of escorting the assessor to all of Didlake’s sites. He said, “Achieving this certification strategically aligns us with our customers as they seek LEED certification and we build upon our reputation as a leader in green cleaning.”
