Students celebrate graduation from Project SEARCH internship program

During a graduation ceremony Tuesday, Alec Lozito said he was happy he was able to “climb the stairs to adulthood” with the help of the Project SEARCH internship program .

“I’d like to thank you all for letting me be a part of this,” Lozito said at the ceremony at Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center .

Six graduates completed nine-month internships at the Maryview center or DePaul Medical Center in Norfolk to earn their diplomas. Each graduate has an autism spectrum disorder.
