Fauquier Bank Executive Named “Opportunity’s Champion” by The Didlake Foundation

Fauquier Bank Executive Named “Opportunity’s Champion” by The Didlake Foundation

June 20, 2008 / Didlake / News

Manassas, VA – Nathan Gilbert, Vice President of TFB Wealth Management at The Fauquier Bank, has been named the second-ever recipient of an award created to recognize individuals whose volunteer efforts help to create opportunities for people with disabilities. The Opportunity’s Champion award was created by the Board of Directors of The Didlake Foundation in 2005 and is awarded only occasionally.
Gilbert was presented with the award by Board Chairman Keith Scarborough, who quoted from the document that the Board used to consider Mr. Gilbert’s nomination, which reads in part:
Mr. Gilbert’s support for the concerns of people with disabilities is longstanding and in fact his involvement with Didlake consumers began with the original FORE organization [later acquired by Didlake], where he worked as a volunteer while in high school.
[his] enthusiasm, creativity and commitment to the Foundation’s mission add immeasurably to its success. He is a busy executive with many pressing priorities, both professional and personal. These commitments notwithstanding, he continues to give generously of his time, energy, money and ideas to champion the cause of creating opportunities for people with disabilities.
Mr. Gilbert is the second person to receive the Opportunity’s Champion Award, which was first awarded to Guy Hinkler, Director of Business Development at V2 Systems, Manassas Park. Both Mr. Gilbert and Mr. Hinkler continue to be leading supporters of The Didlake Foundation’s efforts to encourage community philanthropic support for Didlake’s mission of creating opportunities that enrich the lives of people with disabilities. Both currently serve (with Mr. Hinkler as Chair) on the planning committee for the Prince William Classic an annual charity golf tournament benefiting both The Didlake Foundation and The Prince William Symphony Orchestra, which last year generated over $100,000 in revenues.
