WASHINGTON, DC – Congratulations to Didlake employee, Doris Cooper, for being named 2006’s Project Manager of the Year by NISH, a national nonprofit agency dedicated to providing employment opportunities for people with severe disabilities. The ceremony took place at the Pentagon where Cooper oversees a custodial staff of around 180 people. Robert J. Sullivan, executive director of NISH East Region presented her with the award. Cooper also received recognition from Didlake’s Rex Parr, CEO & president, and Michael Payne, Vice President of Industrial Operations, at a meeting of the Didlake, Inc. Board of Directors.

Everyone at Didlake is thrilled for Doris and her accomplishments, said Parr. “She does credit to herself, to Didlake and the people who work for her.” Cooper has been with Didlake since 2005. Her supervisor, Payne said she is very dedicated to getting the best out of the people she works with, while delivering the best possible service to the customer. It is obvious in everything she does that she cares for her employees and is extremely devoted to each of them.
Didlake’s partnership with the Pentagon is part of the Javits-Wagner-O’Day Program (JWOD) created by Congress in 1938 to allow agencies working with the blind to sell products to the government and amended in 1971 to include all Americans with disabilities to receive employment assistance under the Act.
