New Partnership Creates Opportunities for People with Disabilities

New Partnership Creates Opportunities for People with Disabilities

December 31, 2013 / Didlake / Press Releases
MISCO Ceremony
Surrounded by Didlake employees, Didlake President and CEO Rex Parr cuts a ribbon in a ceremony held to celebrate the organization’s new partnership with MISCO. Joining Parr was Didlake Vice President of Contract Operations Mike Payne, AmSan Sales Representative Brad Bobbitt, Didlake Project Manager Bernie Carpenter, MISCO Vice President of Operations David Kutz, and Fauquier County Chamber of Commerce President Joe Martin.

Manassas, VA – Didlake welcomed a new partnership on Dec. 6 with a ribbon-cutting event at Didlake’s Opal Business Service Center in Fauquier County, Va. The partnership will provide opportunities for people with disabilities to work on a contract for one of the nation’s largest private labeling companies.

Under the new arrangements, Didlake employees will bottle and package cleaning supplies manufactured by MISCO under the Renown brand name. Renown is the brand name used by AmSan, one of the nation’s largest custodial supplies providers and a major vendor of supplies used by Didlake on its multiple custodial contracts with the federal government.

The project offers the potential for significant future growth, creating more potential employment opportunities for people with disabilities in the region.  “We are excited to help support the enthusiastic and capable individuals with disabilites at the Opal Business Center. To see how dedicated and proud they are after a job well done is truly a heartwarming event. I am honored to partner with [Didlake Vice President of Contract Operations] Mike Payne and Didlake as well as [MISCO Vice President of Operations] David Kutz and MISCO to further aid in the advancement of people with disabilities,” said AmSan Sales Representative Brad Bobbitt.

Dave Kutz provided technical assistance to prepare the Opal site to fill, seal, label and package the products for delivery to the MISCO warehouse in Reading, Pa.  Kutz adds, “We are thrilled to be working with the talented teams at Didlake and AmSan. This is a partnership that benefits all of us and the communities we live and work in.”  The first 100 cases of products will ship this month, Didlake Project Manager Bernie Carpenter said, “I think this is going to be a great relationship and it is only going to grow.  It’s a fantastic opportunity for our employees.”

About MISCO Products Corporation
The founder of MISCO, Richard Gable, was a research chemist for Armstrong Cork & Seal Company prior to purchasing the assets of the Miller Soap Company, whose name was contracted into the MISCO acronym. Richard saw the need for a company to supply floor coatings and a chemical to strip the coatings off of composite vinyl tile floors. He began manufacturing and selling floor care chemicals in April of 1962. Because his research at Armstrong gave him a strong knowledge base in this area, it was possible to begin formulating products based on customer’s needs and thus MISCO Products Corporation was born. By focusing on customer needs, MISCO has grown into a company that offers a complete line of cleaning and maintenance products and is “The Leader in Private Branding”.
