Didlake Showcases Green Cleaning Expertise with Earth Day Celebrations

Manassas, VA – April 16 -22 is Earth Week and Didlake, Inc. is celebrating with multiple exhibits featuring its green cleaning capabilities at government agencies throughout the Washington, D.C. metro area.  A not-for-profit organization that employs hundreds of people with disabilities through contracts with the federal government, Didlake is also known for its advanced capabilities to provide healthy, sustainable green cleaning that meets the rigid standards of federal agency facilities. Throughout the week, Didlake staff members will provide government workers with more information about its healthy, sustainable facility management services at display booths at the Pentagon and other locations.
“Didlake welcomes Earth Week and the opportunity to showcase our dedication to healthy and sustainable facility management. We have instituted the use of environmentally friendly cleaning products and practices in all the buildings we clean.  The implementation of green cleaning is a high priority for our government customers and we have a staff of experts that are helping them achieve their goals,” said Didlake President and CEO Rex Parr.
About Didlake’s Green Cleaning Practices
Didlake’s philosophy is to reduce waste, increase efficiency and improve working environments through greener chemicals, products and equipment in its evolution of practices. Didlake is pursuing certification by ISSA, The Worldwide Cleaning Industry Association, through the Cleaning Industry Management Standard – Green Building (CIMS-GB), which is compliant with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) and Green Seal (GS-42) standards. This certification enables Didlake to help its customers meet requirements under the LEED for Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance (LEED-EBOM) Green Building Rating System, while greening operations overall. Didlake assists its customers in achieving LEED certification and following Presidential Executive Order 13101 – Greening the Government through Waste Prevention, Recycling, and Federal Acquisition and Executive Order 13423 – Strengthening Federal, Environmental Energy and Transportation Management.

It was founded in 1965 to create opportunities for people with disabilities through services that connect them to employment, education and the community. It provides contract business services for commercial and government customers and has won numerous awards for its facilities maintenance; packaging/ assembly; and administrative services. The organization operates throughout the Washington, D.C. metro area, in the Roanoke Valley and in Greater Hampton Roads. It serves more than 1,400 people with disabilities annually.
