In Commemoration of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, the Virginia Department of Rehabilitative Services (DRS) hosted a series of events around the Commonwealth aimed at honoring organizations in public, private, and non-profit sectors that have helped further DRS’s mission to empower individuals with disabilities to maximize their employment, independence and full inclusion into society. Didlake, Inc. received three of these coveted awards.
At the Northern Region Recognition for Excellence hosted by DRS at the Marriott Washington Dulles Airport Hotel. Claiborne D. Haughton Jr, President & CEO, Haughton Group, LLC and James A. Rothrock, Commissioner, DRS were keynote speakers. On hand to receive the award for Didlake were Oscar Lopez, Project Manager at DLA along with Colleen Huff and Anne Ferguson, Employment Specialists. Also in attendance were Rex Parr, President & CEO, John Craig, Vice President for Rehabilitation Services and Eleana Boyer Program Director for Supported Employment. Additionally, DRS honored stellar Virginia businesses which have demonstrated exemplary policies and practices that support the employment of people with disabilities.
Didlake received the same award, presented by DRS to Theresa Williams, Project manager, at Quantico
At a separate event in Richmond, Didlake was recognized at the Champions of Disabilities Awards Breakfast by DRS for its employment of people with disabilities in the Greater Hampton Roads area. Ro Silvas, Human Resources – Greater Hampton Roads, represented Didlake at the event.
