Five years ago the federal government’s General Services Administration (GSA) created the Mail Center of the Year award to honor outstanding work at government mail centers. The award recognizes the critical role that mail center operations play in conducting the government’s business.
Of the first five awards given, we are very proud to say that three have gone to mail centers operated by Didlake, Inc. Last December, the Peace Corps joined the Department of Energy and FBI Headquarters as Didlake customers that have earned the ìbest ofî label for their mail centers.
Al Laich, Acting Director of Administrative Services at the Peace Corps, was also named Mail Manager of the year. Mr. Laich was quick to recognize the hard work and dedication of the Didlake employees who run his operation. The award was presented in February at the 2005 Federal Mail Best Practice Awards Luncheon. The beautiful trophy was first given to Mr. Laich, who promptly handed it to Darrell Dockery, Didlake’s project manager at the Peace Corps, as a gesture of appreciation.
Congratulations to Mr. Laich, Darrell and all of the Didlake employees at the Peace Corp who helped to bring about this important accomplishment!
