Didlake Awarded 3-Year CARF Accreditation

07/01/08

Didlake, Incorporated, a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to enriching the lives of people with disabilities, announced that its Community and Employment Services have been awarded a three-year accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). This is the third consecutive three-year accreditation that the international accrediting body has awarded to Didlake.

This accreditation decision represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization and shows Didlake's substantial conformance to the CARF standards. To receive the three-year accreditation, Didlake was required to undergo a rigorous peer review process and demonstrate to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit that its programs and services are of the highest quality, measurable, and accountable.

Didlake President and CEO Rex Parr commented, "Although the Didlake organization has nearly tripled in size since it was first accredited by CARF, and our market area now covers most of Virginia along with the District of Columbia and parts of Maryland, our commitment to CARF quality standards has never waivered. In fact, it is a unifying factor for our company. CARF accreditation is the outward affirmation of what everyone at Didlake believes that the people with disabilities who look to us for training and support deserve nothing less than the best we have to offer. I'm very proud to be a part of this team."

About CARF

CARF is an independent, nonprofit accrediting body whose mission is to promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process that centers on enhancing the lives of the persons served. Founded in 1966 as the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, and now known as CARF, the accrediting body establishes consumer-focused standards to help organizations measure and improve the quality of their programs and services.
